New Frontier Firewood, LLC., began production in December, 2002. However, the owner, Lynn Grimes, has been in the logging business for over 35 years. This new firewood operation is an extension of the logging business in that it allows them to utilize more of the top stems and branches of the trees being harvested. In the past, many of these tops were left to decay in the woods because there was no market to utilize them.
Processing these stems and branches into firewood not only provides quality firewood for consumers, it also eliminates unsightly waste material at timber harvesting sites.     Our splitting process begins with a Cord King firewood processor that is capable of processing 45 cords of wood in an 8 hour shift. Multiple knives and settings allow us to offer a variety of sizes and lengths.

|      Once the firewood has been processed, it is sent to a fully mechanized overhead conveyor system that allows the wood to be dropped into different piles to be sorted and dried. |
We now have a Kiln installed to assure quick and easy fire starting and clean burning.
Drier wood will perform better in stoves with catalytic converters and reduce creosote problems.
Remember to have your flue cleaned prior to the heating season and depending on stove performance at least once mid season. |
|      After the wood has cured, it is sold as seasoned firewood or sent to the shrink wrapping plant where it is bundled and packaged for shipping. |
|      An information sheet is included with each bundle, along with a firestarting stick. A handle is stapled to each bundle and then the bundles pass under the red section for the shrinking process. |
